PostSubject: tips on not being a farm   Tue Jan 19, 2010 1:36 pm

Definition of a farm: Player that gives out resources raid after raid.

If you don't want to become one, do not give out bounty. These are a few tricks that can help you to stop being one.

1- Be active

Activity is essential if you don't want to be a farm. Checking your account only once or twice a day is not good enough. If you cannot be online more than that, ask for a sitter. You cannot protect your resources if you are not around when an attack comes.

Also very important is to grow one population at least per day. Inactive players list monitor those players that do not increase their population to prepare their famous lists. To prevent attacks, do not become one of them.

2- Cranny Up

Building crannies help you hide resources from the attacker. You need to build up your cranny until it protects 33% above your storage capacity, so you protect your resources even from teutons.

For example, if your cranny capacity is 1000, your cranny is only protecting 666 of each resource from teuton raiders. If your storage capacity is 1200, you will need at least 1460 cranny capacity to keep your resources protected.

Give away NO BOUNTY, that should be your priority.

3- Use up your resources before the attack

If you have more resources than your cranny capacity, you need to spend them before the attack hits. You can use them in building up resources, a building or troops. If you use NPC, you can use this tool:, input your resources and it will tell you what NPC conversion you need to do in order to build the bigger amount of troops possible.

4- Play Empty Village Strategy

Empty Village Strategy means that when the attacker arrive at your village, they find no troops defending, and they take no bounty with them.

Raiders are not only eager to get resources from you, but also offensive points by killing your troops. Do not let them. Keep your troops away from your village when an attack comes. Even if you are able to kill all their troops, in many occasions attacker will come back next time with even more troops. To climb on the attackers list by earning easy offensive points is a juicy price to a nice raid. Especially if the attacker is bringing along their hero ... Do not let them.

Remember to send your troops out for a raid during the nite, so your troops are not caught at home in case of attack. Move in the map far away, look for a 2-5 pop player, and send your troops at least 4 hours away when you go to bed.

I read in the FAQ that since v3.5 the teutons only get 20% bonus on raiding instead of 33%,
i only checked it out in v3.6, and it's as i read.
