Was Pretty Bored so Decided to spout some BS. cyclops

Here Goes Nothing.

Hammer is nothing but a Bunch of OFFENSIVE Troops trained from a SINGLE VILLAGE throughly Upgraded in Blacksmith.

Hammers Simply put have 3 parts : Infantry, Cavalry and Sieze (Catas and Rams). All Tribes have their own speciality offense Troops.

Remember always, always Upgrade your Troops in Blacksmith to the maximum, including Catapults and Rams. You could however put the Catas in the last to upgrade list Laughing

Lvl 20 upgrades gives close to 33% more attack points to troops so DO NOT Neglect it. There are plenty of charts around to show when to upgrade the troops but as a rough figure Upgrade a lvl of Infantry every 300 units and Cavalry every 150 units. Rams Should be fully upgraded by the time you hit 500 Ram units and Catas by the time you hit 800 cata units.


The Combo (Infantry + Cavalry Which will generate you most attack/Sec)

Teutons = Clubbies and Tks
Gauls = Swords and Haeds
Romans = Imps and EC's

Now Crop Consumption Wise Gauls and Romans are no brainers, If you are feeling resource crunched you can very well replace Haeds with TT's and EC's with EI's. There isn't much difference in Attack/Crop consuption but Cost wise It'd make a difference.

For Teutons Clubbie Hammer makes the most crop inefficient Hammer but It's dirt cheap and regenerates fast. So those who are not planning to build a WW Hammer might go for it. Otherwise Go for Axe-tks combo.

Although I'd not advice to train more than 10k clubs in any hammer at-least in the normal servers and not without a speed artifact.

Capital V/s Non Capital Hammers

Depending Upon Tribes A Lvl 20 Barracks/Stables and Worshop Will require 35k/hr to 40k/hr Resources. That is around 7-8 fully capped villages.

Similarly lvl 20 Rax/Great Rax, Stables/Great Stables and Workshops takes around 110k/hr to 120k/hr Resources. That's around 22-24 villages. (In the Travian T 3.5 +)

Non Capital Hammers are vulnerable to Chiefings and most of the time you'd have to worry about shipping crop to the Hammer village. Which is not a problem if you are building capital Hammers.

The Advantage of a Non capital hammer is the Build time. If you go for Non capital Hammer you could build OMFG types Hammers, even if you are wrecking it on a usual basis. (To give a rough figure, it takes 2 months to Train a 200kish Hammer if you have the resource available through raiding/village production).

Capital Hammers are easier to manage. If you wreck the hammer at the wrong time you probably won't be able to make a OMFG hammer by the time of endgame but It'll sure wont' keep you up at nights shipping Wheat. Sad.

Bottom Line : If you have Good Duals and or Reliable sitter pool and are active as Hell. You could go for a non capital Hammer. Otherwise Stick to capital hammer and Train Defenses out of the spare resources.

Rams Rams Rams -- I have seen most players neglecting Rams. Don't be the Idiot. Do not neglect Rams. A 20k (Troops which consume 20k wheat every hour ) Hammer with 500 rams would Fair a LOT better than a 30k Hammer with 200 rams, if it has to hit a fairly defended Wall. If you are not building a WW Cata Hammer, Devote 8% crop consumption of the Hammer in Rams. For a 30k Hammer Train at least 800 rams to go with it. Although One could Stop at 3000 ram units (Which Good enough if you are not going to build a WW Wall Breaker).

Catas - You Can Never Have Enough.

WW Class Hammers :

WW Rammers 'Wall Breakers' - Atleast 10k - 15k Rams with 100k Infantry and Cavalry

WW 'Cata' Hammers (Infrastructure Hitters) -- Minimum of 100k Infantry and Cavalry and minimum of 8k Catas to afford Double Shot.

A Hammer with 50k Clear and 4k Cata is NOT a WW Hammer.

WW Busters -- 200k Clear with 10k+ Catapults to target the WW's.

Rest all the Hammers which does not reach 20% or less than the above WW Class Hammers by 1 month before the endgame are Meat Hammers which would be best utilized on hunting down enemy WW hammers. Twisted Evil
