Try to avoid having multiple villages produce the same things.

Most of your army should come from one village (at this point, that should probably be your cropper, or a village right next to your cropper). Having 1500 imperians and 60 rams coming from one village is ten times more useful and more powerful than 500 imperians and 20 rams from each of 3 villages. It also prevents you from wasting time and money on blacksmith upgrades in each village (the blacksmith upgrade only applies to troops trained in THAT village).

What I'm doing is using Vagrant to produce all of my defense from now on. I will only have an armory and upgrade defense there, and from there I will send defense to all the other villages.

Virgo is producing hundreds of Theutates Thunders. It's not going to be a significant attacker for a while, but it does quite a lot of raiding.

Verdance is going to mainly host catapults, Virgin is a supply village, and Virago is going to be the alliance hammer.

So each village has its own little purpose, whether it be defense, catapults, hammer, or supply.

Hello there Verdant,

First of all, let me thank you for your posts in the tips' section. They have been a good memory refreshener Smile

Let me just add a bit of my opinion on this one: Using a single city to produce defensive troops has advantages and disavantages, and my thought is that later on is not worthewhile. Let me explain:

The good points, you have already said. Basically, we can concentrate the defense upgrades in just one city, and sending reinfs from there. In early and mid-game, where recs are scarce, i agree this is the best to do.

Now, going on to late game, where we have more recs and less time, i would rather have most of my towns doing their defense troops and upgrades. Why? Essencially, its all about speed. If i need to make a quick reinf, i can send all my def troops to one city directly without having to call them back to their original city and from there to the city to defend.

Of course this gain of speed comes at a price - having to build lv20 armourys, which will take you away some crop which could be used to feed aditional troops.

If one is working to be a good hammer, and has good defensive support around him, then it is probably better to work on defense in just one city.

Hope i have been clear.
Regards
Thytos

I think rams, cats, and attacker troops should all came from the same village. The cropper.
This way you have always the same time if want to send several attacks of cats to one target.

You can have TT to raids in other villages like i will have paladins.

Defense troops will be made in all others villages with armary at max level.

Good points! Yeah, this is definitely midgame strategy when resources are still somewhat limiting our options. Late game, we'll be producing defense from most villages with armoury 20 (except for the megahammers that will have one village's offense troops spread out among all villages to reduce the negative crop load).

For late game, you want your cropper to be your capital, to maximise crop production, and you want to produce troops at some village NEXT to your cropper, to maximize how fast you can produce troops, using great barracks and great stable (which can't be built in capital).

The main point of all this is what TravianGod said. Only one or maaaaybe two villages should hold your rams and cata right now. Rams and cata are resource hogs, and you want them to stick around your hammer. 20 rams hanging around with 500 imperians while another 40 rams hang around with 1500 imperians in a different village isn't half as useful as having 60 rams and 1500 imperians in the same village. For cats, the big difference is upgrading to level 20 rally point, which costs more than a chief.

What should i do. my main force is now at my capital ( start village ). i also have about half that force in my 15 c ( no bonus one ) should i just let that one run into a death trap and make my 15c a storage place of my capital like suggested above. or make my 15c the main producer. because isnt a 1 hour time travelling to much from the producing to the storage ? and anyway i have to make my 15c capital for the 10 + fields. what you guys think ?

Keep your main force around unless you can find a good place to suicide it that would help Ares. 1 hour travel time is ok for merchants, but not ideal for troops. If you want to produce many troops in great barracks, it must be in or next to a cropper.

Does anyone have suggestions on which village should hold scouts? I'm wondering if I want to burden my offense troop production village with producing scouts.

But if I don't produce scouts there, then I have to upgrade armoury and blacksmith in a different village.
